Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen started its first educational institute for boys in 1919 and thereafter it took  more than fifty Years to open a degree college for them. On the other hand, when it started its first educational institute for girls in 1971, it took less than twenty-five years to open a separate degree college for them. Although, from 1983 itself girls joined the coedu­cational degree college of Anjuman, the evils of coeducation were not lost sight of by the management. It took another twelve years to establish a separate college for them, with only Arts faculty.

Anjuman College for Women is now ten years old. Instead of conventional optional subjects, its curriculum provide for Psycho­logy and Education. These subjects will help the students to shape themselves in future mothers, who would bring up their children

As educated and responsible citizens. The Government of Karnataka permitted introduction of Science faculty with (I) Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science and (ii) Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, in this college in August 2004. This college was originally affiliated to Karnatak University, Dharwad and now it stands affi­liated to Karnatak Women University, Bijapur. Formal sanction of the latter University for starting Science faculty is awaited.
